Love is a Garden

Love is a garden,

It grows as time goes.

And love is filled with flowers

Lilies, dandelions and sometimes a rose—

At the center of it all,

Beauty outshining the rest,

Its thorns will remind you

Love—is not harmless.

Flowers decay and gardens fall apart,

The thorns, you will learn,

Will not be the only ones to tear at your heart.

So be mindful of who takes care of your garden;

Be careful of who you entrust the key.

Gardens fall apart from neglect too.

Love falls apart if one or the other leaves.

But love, like nature, is seasonal at its core,

And for every winter you will find a summer and a spring—

And a garden filled once more.
